All of this year's competitions have been held. Congratulations to Ken White winner of the Wildlife and Open Competitions. John Gardiner and The Evergreens picked up The Wager Trophy for best story film. Yours truly collected The Berry Trophy for filming to a specified subject.

Video Roadshows

One more show to complete this year's programme which will be to the Friends of The Waterways Museum on 25th.November at 7 30pm. Bookings for 2009 have started to be taken. Thanks to the usual stalwarts who literally keep the show on the road.

45TH ANNIVERSARY FILM.

Thanks to Chris Wheatley who has put in many hours to complete this project. Also thanks to Mike, Helen, Arthur and Chris who along with myself did the filming.

2008 PROGRAMME

The sun shone for us on June 30th. when we held our BBQ at the home The Sawyers. The evening ended with a quiz and a most enjoyable evening was had by all. Thank you John and Val who also entertained us to some excellent videos of their travels from the Amazon to the Antartic and many other countries. Truly wonderful. The filming on location was enjoyed by the few who turned up at Prinknash Bird Park and Painswick. Perhaps next year more of you will come along. Please do.

TRIVENTION

Do come and support us at the Cheltenham Club on 13th November at 7 30pm. Our opposition is the Worcester Club who can be relied upon to be entering some excellent films well worth seeing. See you there.

OLD PROJECTOR.

Tony Fleck has continued to try to get the old projector to behave. It works fine at his home but when we tried it out at the club recently it was reluctant to co-operate. Don't give up Tony you are nearly there.

COTSWOLD FILM FESTIVAL

Congratulations to Chris Wheatley who won a Gold Award for his film "Get it right". This was shown to us at our last meeting and was a very slick and well edited movie. We are very fortunate to have such talent in our club.

2009 PROGRAMME

Your suggestions as soon as possible please for next year. One idea put forward is to do a club story film. Draft outlines please for our meeting in January when they will be discussed and the best one will form the basis of the film.

AND FINALLY

AGM on 17th. November when we will be having a one minute competition.

John Greene , Secretary

Chairman's Remarks -September 2008

The Club has kept busy during the summer with a very enjoyable social at the home of John And Val Sawyer.
John Greene has led filming activities in Painswick and the Prinknash Bird Park.
Chris Wheatley and myself have been working feverishly on editing films for our Public film night on 13th October which will have films from over 55 years - much of it taken by members past and present.
No doubt many members have been out and about filming various subjects for future competitions which I look forward to seeing.
It is good to see a couple of new faces at meetings recently and I hope others will join them. Please remember that visitors are welcome at our normal club meetings at no charge - so please bring friends who may be interested in particular evenings and who knows they may wish to join us!
I was saddened to hear of the death of former member Ted Butt in August. Ted was a quiet but very friendly gentleman who was at one time a projectionist. He really enjoyed coming to our meetings especially the Archive Shows.
Please remember to let me know if you have any film or information topic that can be used in our second half on club nights. Also let me know if you have any ideas for 2009.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has enquired after the health of my wife Monica. She has had keyhole surgery to remove an Adrenal Gland and her blood pressure seems to be dropping. She is still rather delicate but is on the mend!
